Welcome to Flow Counseling!
I'm looking forward to working with you to help you feel more at peace, joyful, and satisfied about your new life situation. Working together we'll find specific tools to help you manage the stress and other challenges that are limiting you in your professional and personal life, so that you can be your better self again.
You will find below some key practical information about my practice and answers to the questions clients frequently ask me.
Also, below is a link to our Welcome Packet that provides easily accessible information about my practice as well as some additional resources for you to get started on your healing path.
Good Faith Estimate
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

Office Location
Your First Session
The first therapy session may feel intimidating. You're not sure what to expect.
Our first session is an introduction when we start forming a trusting relationship together.
The first couple of sessions help me assess how I can help you best. I want to get to know you better, and you get to ask me any questions you may have. It will be very interactive and collaborative, and you will usually leave with a few practical tools to help you cope better with your current feelings and experience. I want the session to be useful to you.
Therapy Duration
How long will it take to feel better?
You may feel some relief after the first few sessions and see noticeable changes after 3-4 months. However, "it depends" remains the best answer to this question.
Depending on what you want to work on in therapy, what your goals are, how determined you are to make improvements in your life, therapy length can go from a few sessions if using EMDR in certain situations, for some specific issues, to 6-12 months on average to see some lasting results.
Sometimes people leave too soon and end up having to come back later on. They experienced some positive changes, are happy with it but didn't give themselves the time to fully integrate it in their lives, so the benefits don't last.
Together, we will talk about the right time to end. But know that as much as I will enjoy working with you, my goal is to help you as quickly as possible.
Therapy with me
What does therapy with me look like?
My approach is very collaborative, interactive and respectful.
I consider you are the expert of your own experience. I'm here to guide you and help you get unstuck. You are always in control of the pace of the work we do together.
I'm trained in somatic therapy, which means that I incorporate a lot of our non-verbal communication in my work. A gesture, a breath, a tone of voice can be very telling and helpful to get to the core of your difficulties and find the right tools to help you alleviate your pain.
My approach is also present-moment based for the most part. We will talk about your past but mainly as a reference point to focus on your present challenges.
I tend to offer practical tools specific to you. We may practice them first together, then let you try them out in your everyday life to see what works and what doesn't.
Online Counseling
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. I provide online counseling for people living in the states of Colorado and California. I use a secure video system.
Online therapy offers more flexibility and continuity of care, and it’s also a good alternative in case of inclement weather.
Ending Therapy
What happens if I want to stop therapy?
Ideally, we would come to that decision together. However, you are always in control and can choose to end therapy when you wish. While you are not required to have a termination session, or even a conversation about ending therapy, it can be HIGHLY beneficial to wrap up in this way.
I know many times it’s easier to avoid the phone call, e-mail or session you worry would be awkward. Being able to openly express yourself and your need to end can be an opportunity to practice feeling empowered and showing up in your life when you feel uncomfortable, which may be something you had a hard time doing in the past. Also, know that I’ve never had an awkward termination session or conversation. And I believe my clients would say the same.
